Andy Michaels: “Incendiary Heart” by Eileen Shapiro

Australian romantic pop sensation and award winning poet, Andy Michaels has just unveiled his highly anticipated  album, a follow up to his critically acclaimed album , “Revisited.” “Incendiary Heart” is saturated with starry-eyed poetry, and relevantly lush messages evoking decadent music tracks. Celebrating a Jason Mraz flair, with songs like “Darling It Hurts”, Michaels’ music plunges into the sky like fireworks and shatters the darkness. The album was just completely and fully mastered and will be released within the next couple of weeks.

Andy Michaels and his angelic voice grips us with his talent. Like an angel his songs follow you everywhere, tapping you on the shoulder demanding that you pay attention and listen. With his unique style and his kaleidoscope of lyrical  and musical sparkle this album promises to dazzle the planet.

Your new album is just over the top.

It’s been taken to a new level which is what I wanted to do.

What will your first single be?

“The Flame” and “Only Love Knows the Meaning of Goodbye” have been partly released a few months ago.

What have you been doing this past year?

You know already, for 12 months I’ve been doing this new album. So it’s been taking up all of my time. This time I didn’t rush it, it’s been a little at a time. I think it was worth it. It literally took 12 months. I was a lot more careful this time. I didn’t want to just put it out there or on the album as a filler. Each song has its own meaning and purpose in life, and that’s what I wanted to do.

What inspired this album?

Obviously “Revisited” was I never got everything off my chest and the beauty about this album is that it’s a lot more soul reflection or where are we going from here rather than where we’ve been. I think that’s what it’s all about. The song “Fire Flies” it deals with where we’ve before, to sum it up, its soul reflection.

I hear a lot of love in the album and not necessarily positive love.

Songs like “Darling It Hurts” was me putting myself in other people’s shoes. You see pain everywhere. We are people and we all hurt. Somewhere along the line we are all going to hurt. This songs about empathy, “hey darling I know I hurts, and here I am.’

Will you be doing some gigs to support the album in Australia?

I’m just starting to think about it now. I want to get out and do something live. I’ve got a lot of support locally and I’ll definitely be doing that.
