Exclusive Interviw with MAry Keey

Hello Mary Keey! Thank you for speaking with me today!

Hi! Nice to meet you!

You recently released your song ‘I’m OK’! Will you tell us a bit about it?

What was the song writing process for it?

Of course! I wrote this song together with my producer, he had this whistle sound idea (which you can hear at the beginning of the song. And this gave us the tone for the rest of the song. We were in a pretty difficult time when we wrote the song, but this song became the reminder that everything I did so far brought me to where I am today. And even if it’s difficult I know I am doing the right thing cause I do what I love, that is music. 

Then as always once we had the main production let’s say we called in our drummer and guitarist to record their parts and add their ideas. It’s funny how the song changes in this process. It’s as if it would become even more alive.

Who are some of your biggest musical influences?

At the moment it’s a mix between One Republic and Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Who would be a dream collaboration for you?

I would love to collaborate with Imagine Dragons. They are fantastic songwriters and the voice of Dan Reynolds is just always on point. I am a big fan of their music.

Do you have a mantra or piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass on to other musicians?

Don’t wait for anybody. Work on yourself and always give your best. 

Any other upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?

I actually do have a US-Tour coming up this Winter. Where I will also take the chance to work on a few collaborations for upcoming tracks.
