Interview: Mark and the Tiger

Hello Mark!  We are so excited about your up-coming music release.  Can you share anything about it with us?  

Hi! Thank you so much! I’m super excited myself. There is a bit of significance for sure. The song I’m releasing, “Hand to Hold”, isn’t a love song by any means, but is is a song about coming together and being a friend. I’ve always loved Valentines Day! Single, coupled, whatever. Any day designated to celebrating love and unity is OK by me! And frankly, I think it’s extra important in this day and age. It just seemed appropriate that Valentine’s Day was rolling around right when this song was ready to go.

We also read that following the first single you will have other new music. Is this true? If so how long have you been working on the new music?

It’s absolutely true! In addition to “Hand to Hold”, I’m releasing two or three other singles over the course of the Spring, culminating in the release of my first EP in May! The last 4 four songs have been in the works since the Fall. But Some of these songs have been a few years in the making. I’ve been ready to get this music out for a while!

Do you have anything specific you hope listeners take away after hearing it?

This song is sort of like my own version of “I Want To Hold Your Hand”. I want to inspire that same sort of joy and togetherness that The Beatles did.

Between creating in the studio or performing live on stage, which is most enjoyable to you and why?

I love them both but for me being in the studio can be stressful sometimes. There are moments when I’m in love with the music I’m creating and then so many other times where I second guess every thing I come up with. When I’m on stage the only thing I can do is sing and get lost in my music. It’s the place where I can just relax and get carried away.

Tell us what do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?

I don’t know man. I’m me. Hop on the ride, it’s gonna be an adventure!

What is on your agenda or what can fans expect to see from you in 2020?

I’m taking the next few months to finish up all the music and get it ready for the EP release in May. And then in the second half of Spring and into the Summer I’m gonna be taking the music out on the road as much as I can!
