Exclusive INTERVIEW with GEORGE THEODOROU
How would you classify your music?
Who are some of your top 5 musical influences?
Deep Purple, Led Zepellin, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi
What do you want fans to take away from your music?
I want my music to create feelings, whichever ones those are. All songs are coming from the heart and are stories of my life and I want to share the love, the joy, the sadness and loneliness and the hope and fun with my Fans.
How is the music scene in your city, country?
I believe that at the moment its a difficult scene, because I feel like the variety of styles is limited. I think that every style of music should have it’s place. With my first Album, which is very versatile for example, I want to show that a lot of different styles can work and fit together.
What is the best concert you have ever been to that has truly inspired your live performances?
Michael Bormann had a huge impact on my career – when I saw him singing the first time I thought “Oh that`s nice – I wanna try that! (Laughs) And I did . So Michael Bormann is actually the reason that I am a singer today.
What do you enjoy most about performing to a live audience?
The great thing that is happening live, is that when you give a lot of energy to the people, they give you so much energy back and that’s when Magic happens. I love it every time…
Is there a song on your latest CD release that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?
Honestly I love every single one of the songs and each one of them has a great Story to tell. On the Album “Water” there is the song “Journey” which is very special in style and feeling. It’s all about “travelling” every day – through the day and the diffiulties of life, even if the decisions that we make are not totally our own decisions. I would say this is one of the very special Songs to
How have you evolved as an artist over the last year during these challenging times?
In these hard times i tried like most of the people not to quit or give up my
dreams. I finalized my 1st Album and actually this year gave me a lot of time to
work on my songs and with my production team in the Studio which was great. In
general after so many years of touring and playing in different Bands, it was a
big step for me to go to a new country, leave my sourronding and finally make my
dreams come true. I am very happy I did it…
If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be?
Definitely the one and only Alice Cooper. He is the master of show on stage with a wide range of music styles throughout his records – a true artist that always surprised me with his work. To work with or play with him would be amazing – I guess also to have a couple of beers (laughs).
What are your future plans?
We started with the Album “Water” – in the best case we are planning to make it through all elements (laughs). For now we are preparing the release of another Single and the Album and we will finally start playing live again. It has been a long time since the last show and I am looking forward to having fun on stage again soon! Whatever happens i am sure it’s going to be great…
