Has Trump Changed the Middle East?

In the past week, the Middle East has been transformed dramatically. Here’s how.
Iran says it has never pursued a nuclear weapon. In fact, Iran began work on nuclear weapons over 35 years ago, in the late 1980s, when it collaborated with Pakistani nuclear mastermind A. Q. Khan, the man behind Pakistan’s atomic bomb.
Iran has also worked on nukes for decades with the North Koreans, who attained nuclear status nineteen years ago, in 2006.
In addition, Iran worked with North Korea to build missiles that would carry those nuclear bombs. And it painted slogans on the sides of those missiles explaining that they were designed to wipe Israel off the face of the map.
Then an Iranian proxy, Hamas, started a war against Israel on October 7th, 2023. An Iranian proxy war. Hamas began by killing 1,200 Israelis in the cruelest ways imaginable.
In the war that followed, Israel has hobbled at least three of Iran’s puppet armies, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Iran’s militias in Iraq. Not to mention taking Iran’s closest ally, Syria, off the chessboard.
But the really big surprises began on June 13th when Israel attacked Iran’s 1,500 missiles, the factories making those missiles, and, most important, the centers stockpiling the nuclear materials meant to eradicate Israel.
This set off what Donald Trump calls the Twelve-Day War. And that war was rattled by an unexpected twist.
On Saturday night, June 19th, President Trump pulled off a masterful military maneuver. By saying he was going to pause for two weeks to pursue diplomacy, he led the Iranians to expect a lull in the fighting.
Then he misdirected Iranian strategists further by sending six B-2 bombers from their base in Missouri across the Pacific Ocean, so that if the Iranian military expected any American attack at all, it would expect the attackers to come from the East.
Meanwhile the president sent seven B-2s across the Atlantic, heading toward Iran’s West. Those B-2s carried massive 30,000 pound bunker buster bombs, bombs so huge that a B-2 can only carry two of them.
And Trump hit three heavily fortified Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.
Why the bunker busters? Because Fordow is drilled deep into a mountain, between 300 feet and a half a mile deep, depending on the direction you’re coming from. Photos suggest that the bunker busters may have gone straight down Fordow’s entrance and ventilator shafts.
Then President Trump pulled off a miracle. He wangled a truce between Israel and Iran. That truce has held ever since June 23rd.
All of this has led to a dispute over how far back we’ve set the Iranian nuclear program. One camp cites a leaked draft of an unfinished Defense Intelligence Agency report that says we’ve set Iran back four months. Others estimate we’ve set Iran back four years. President Trump says we’ve set Iran back “decades.”
What’s more, some analysts believe this American move has reset the entire Middle East. Almost all of Iran’s proxy armies and Syria, Iran’s greatest ally, have been neutered. Iran’s ballistic missile arsenal has been cut by up to 60%.
Israel is now the Middle East’s most formidable military power. And the United States is now the Middle East’s great decider.
But here’s the most important thing to know. If Iran gets nukes, its real target is the United States.
Obliterating Israel is just a stepping stone to obliterating the Great Satan. And by making America beg for mercy, Iran hopes to topple all of Western Civilization.
The goal is to install Islamic rulers who will toss aside the “unholy” constitution of the United States and will rule by pure Islamic law, the holy law given by God to his one true prophet, Mohammed, 1,400 years ago.
None of this will happen gently. As one Islamic source said just before 9/11,”Allah told us we must torture” the Westerners. “The question now on the agenda is, how is the torture Allah wants done at our hands to be carried out?”
You saw that holy demand at work on October 7th, 2023, when one of Iran’s puppet armies attacked Israel and started the war that Trump’s bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities has hopefully ended. Hamas was not content to kill 1,200 Israelis. It did its best to inflict maximum pain.
Hamas attackers cut off women’s breasts and raped them in front of their husbands on their kitchen dining tables. It cut off children’s legs in front of their parents. It roasted living babies in ovens, then burned its victims alive.
Remember what the founder of today’s Islamic Revolutionary Republic of Iran, the Ayatollah Khomeini, said just 50 years ago:
“Moslems have no alternative… to an armed holy war against profane governments. …Holy war means the conquest of all non-Moslem territories. …It will …be the duty of every able-bodied adult male to volunteer for this war of conquest, the final aim of which is to put Koranic law in power from one end of the earth to the other.”
And the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency concludes with something ominous: enough of Iran’s enriched uranium to make nine nuclear bombs is missing.
