Thanks for your time today Lanny Paul, we hear new music is on the way. What can you share with us?

Well it is straight from the heart to your ears.. I want everyone to feel a connection with the music .. and just get into the groove of it .. but warning .. some of it will give you a lead foot when turned past 8 while driving .. I’m usually at about 9.5 (laughing)

It’s no secret that the music biz is tough and not for the faint of heart. What’s the biggest problem you’ve had to overcome so far?

Not a lot.. I expect obstacles, and I don’t let them get to me .. I operate on a mindset of karma based decisions .. and also sort of feel that if I like it, a few others will too.. I am ready for a shift in the music industry to a more rock driven sound on radio.. it seems far and few at the moment.. hoping to play a part in the change of moving back to a more connective type vibe.. .. if that’s a real word or not yet I’m not sure ., ..

What do you enjoy most about being a musician?

I have to say.. I like it when People sing my music when I see them and n public.. it always puts a smile on my face .. it’s sort of magical for me..

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
That’s a difficult one as it is changing constantly.. first thing that comes to mind is that I’d like to see artist get better compensated for online music releases for sure.. its a struggle to keep motivated for most.. for that reason mainly ..

Is writing music therapeutic for you? And if so, how?

Yes.. it is .. it’s a re-live a moment sort of thing tho that can be emotionally draining depending on the story .. of non-fiction mainly .. living some stories over and over can take its toll on an artist for sure .. but the reward is when you can share the story with the audience and you can see them being moved by it . . They step in your world sharing your stories impact-fulness sort of ..and “Feel” you if that makes sense .. that’s really therapeutic.. from writing to delivering..
